251 Loaded Lip Seals

Loaded lip seals are very versatile and can be used as rod seals or piston seals. They are considered to be multi-purpose seals and are designed for significantly improved performance. Loaded lip seals are molded from 92 Durometer Urethane with a 70 Durometer Nitrile energizer. The energizer ensures constant pressure on the seaing lips. Temperature: -65F to + 300F Pressure: 0 to 5000 psi Fluids: Petroleum based hydraulic fluids

Standard loaded lip seal
The standard loaded lip seal is the most widely used design of loaded lip seal. By energizing the sealing lips with an endless O-ring, you are assured of uniform, positive lip contact and excellent low-pressure sealing. The seal depth is equal to the radial width, which results in a square design. Standard loaded lip seals can be widely used to interchange with existing hydraulic packing and/or O-rings without changing dimensions.

Loaded lip seal type’B’
The loaded lip ‘B’ features a back-beveled sealing lip. This provides greater film breaking and increased unit loading at the sealing surface. The seal depth is generally 1 1/2 times the radial width to ensure seal stability in the most rugged applications. It is most commonly used as rod seal.
Loaded lip seal-deep style
The loaded lip seal-deep style incorporates the same unique design as the standard loaded lip seal, plus its depth is 1 1/2times greater than the radial width. This increases seal stability to withstand rugged, high shock, heavy-duty applications. This seal will replace many kinds of Vee Packing. When minimum drag is needed, use standard loaded lip seals or loaded lip seals-deep style.
Fastener Seals
Like fastener seals, thread seals are one-piece molded-in-place seals with the rubber sealing element mechanically locked to the metal retainer. They are designed to seal beneath the nut of the fastener and seal directly against the threads of the fastener. This design allows thread seals to block the spiral passage created by the threads that might permit the fluid to wind its way through the helix. When the thread seal is compressed between the nut and the mating surface, the squeeze on the crown
causes the inside of the seal to bulge inward and hug the crest of the thread. This blocks the axial outside leak path. The thread seal also has three wedge-shaped protrusions inside the cylinder hole. Since all standard screw threads have only a single V-shaped spiral channel, one of these wedges will always be in a position to block the flow of fluid through this channel.
???? Thread seals are self-centering and non-directional. Their low cost can provide considerable savings because they make possible the use of low cost standard fasteners and full threaded fittings. No special tools or skills are needed for assembly.
The 7500-Series thread seals are 70 durometer nitrile and commercial CAD plated steel. They are available in standard sizes for bolts and screws as listed below.

Loaded lip seals

Fastener seals are one-piece, molded-in-place seals with the rubber sealing element mechanically locked to the metal retainer. They are designed to seal beneath the head of the fastener for both internal and external pressure systems.
The principle of controlled confinement is utilized in the design of fastener seals. As the fastener is tightened, the rubber seal is compressed, forcing the sealing surfaces securely around the fastener shank-but without squeezing the rubber beyond its elastic limit, or destroying its inherent memory. With fastener seals, there is full metal-to-metal contact at the joining surfaces.
Faster seals provide self-centering for the seal, vacuum sealing, high-pressure sealing, long service, easy installation, moderate torquing, no retorquing, and quick visual inspection.
The 600-Series fastener seals are 70 durometer nitrile and commercial CAD plated steel. They are available in standard sizes for bolts and screws as listed below
